Pellegrini also commented on the concerns that Europe could be missed from peace negotiations. According to him, Europe may not participate in the first stages of negotiations, but it believes that Ultimately, they will be involved in them.
At the same time, he expects that the final decision on the possible participation of the European Union will be in the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greeny. In his speech at a conference in Munich at the margo of negotiations between Russian and US President, he reiterated that refuses to conclude any peace agreements without the participation of Ukraine and Europe. Pellegrini met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and representatives of Meta during the final day of the MSC.
The meeting with Stubb was, in his words, the first official meeting at the level of the heads of states after ten years, with Both leaders confirmed the good relations of their countries and also invited each other to visit. Pellegrini added that they talked together also about the current situation related to the transit of gas and the upcoming meeting of European leaders to find a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine.
At the end of his business trip, Pellegrini laid flowers to the memorial of the Biela Rose in Munich. It recalls the movement, whose members, mostly representatives of the academic community of the University of Munich, were distributed during World War II in Germany calling leaflets calling on people to oppose the Nazi tyranny.
