The former Minister of Human Rights of the Lula administration, Silvio Almeidahe announced on Saturday (15) that he will resume writing and reviewing books as well as his YouTube channel. He compared the resignation of the position, held last year after allegations of harassment and sexual harassment, to an attempt to kill him, concluding that “if the dead man raises, the wake is over.”
Almeida is investigated by the Federal Police for harassment. Among the alleged victims are the Minister of Racial Equality, Anielle Franco, and three women who were her students. In the publication on social networks, he says he was the victim of an attempt at erasure and racism, and accuses non-governmental entities to pressure the government to harm him “for political dispute or resentment.”

“I’m alive, I’m still outraged and I don’t want compassion or ‘second chance’. I want justice, ”wrote the former minister. “They tried to kill me. But it didn’t work out, ”he continued.
According to Almeida, an expanded and revised edition of his book “Structural Racism” – which had been suspended by Editora Record – will be published. He also intends to finalize the work “State, Law and Race in Brazilian Social Thought”.

In a statement to the Federal Police in October, Anielle said she suffered sexual harassment from the then -colleague of ministry in the Lula administration. In the same month, Professor Isabel Rodrigues spoke to the Federal Police in the same direction. Rodrigues said he was sexually harassed by Almeida in 2019. At the end of the investigation, the case will be tried by the Federal Supreme Court.
Silvio Almeida denies having committed any irregularity.
