The Brazilian under-20 team won this Sunday (16) its 13th South American title of the category. The green and yellow team reached the cup in the last round of hexagonal, with a 3-0 win over Chile, and has a stumbling block from Argentina to Paraguay.
The two rivals arrived at the last round tied. The cast led by Ramon Menezes, however, had an advantage in the tiebreaker criteria. But in the end, it was not necessary to do accounts, as Argentina ended its participation losing to the Paraguayans 3-2.
The Brazilian team finished the hexagonal with 13 points. Argentina got 10. It is worth remembering that the Canarinho team started their journey in the competition being beaten by the Argentines themselves, 6-0.
This Sunday, Brazil had work to beat Chile and only unleashed at the end of the match to build the elastic score. The goals were scored by David Washington, Pedrinho and Ricardo Mathias, all in the second half, when the game was getting dramatic for Brazil.
It was the second title of the yellow green team in the tournament under the command of Ramon. He had already celebrated the trophy in 2023.
The next challenge in the category is the World Cup, which will be this year in Chile. The date? September 27th to October 19th.
