Colombia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 1.7% in 2024 compared to the previous year, the Administrative Department of National Statistics (DANE) said on Monday (17) as a preliminary result.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, Colombia GDP grew 2.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Analysts consulted by FactSet projected a 2.6% increase in the four quarter of last year in the annual confrontation. The result represents a slight acceleration compared to the 2.0% advance registered in the annual confrontation of the third quarter.
The results of the previous quarters of 2024 were also adjusted in the update released this Monday.
The first quarter GDP was revised from 0.7% to 0.6%, while the second quarter went from 2.1% to 1.9%. Already the GDP of the third trimester had a light adjustment upward, from 2.0% to 2.1%.
