“There have been serious cases of health problems among firefighters, including death due to lung cancer,” the union warned.

The SNBP indicated that the holidays also remain “a reason for concern,” as they are still scheduled on days off, because the map is not afflicted and by being prevented on its Christmas days, the year or “events associated with the municipality ”.

The trade union structure pointed out that it met in March last year with the Faro Chamber of the City Council to expose the municipality the claims for the Faro Sappers and, in June, in the face of the municipality’s lack of response, the mayor questioned Rogério, Rogério questioned Cod, also to no avail.

Firefighters are faced with a “continuous degradation of working conditions” and it is “evident the lack of commitment of the responsible entities,” said the SNBP, accusing the municipality of “inaction”, endangering professional and relief.

The Lusa agency contacted the reaction to the union’s statement, but the municipality sent a response later.
