Mountain Polar Night, which means it is all the time in the shadow of the surrounding hills. This place is monitored by Polish scientists in the mrozowiska project led by Dr. Czerneczký from the University of A. Mickiewicz in Poznan.

At the bottom of the boiler at a height of 1794 m, they placed a meteorological station. According to the project website, there are so -called boilers. the pools of cold, where inversion decreases heavier cold air. There is nowhere to escape and the difference between air temperatures at the top and at the bottom can be up to 30 degrees Celsius. In this case, the temperature at the bottom of the boiler does not exceed the freezing point even in the summer.

“In the summer there are strong inversions and frequent temperature drops below 0 degrees. We assume that the breaking of the border -10 degrees in July and August is real, ” Scientists are present on the Mrozowiska portal. According to scientists, even lower temperatures can be recorded at this point than the latest record figure. “In winter, we expect a -40 degrees to break the barrier during the duration of scientific research, or in the case of a hard winter to -50 degrees,” supplies the portal.
