The Pope has called Gaza’s parish from the hospital
Pope Francis, hospitalized since Friday by a respiratory road infection, called that same day and Saturday to the parish of the Sagrada Familia de Gaza, the only Catholic Church in the enclave. A parish collaborator has explained on an Italian television channel: “He called us Friday and Saturday. I had a little tired voice, but I was in a good mood and wanted to know how we were. ”
Since the war began, the Pope calls the parish daily, where there are about 600 refugees. Even hospitalized has maintained that habit, except for yesterday, which warned that it would rest, says Gabriel Romanell, the parish priest of the Church.
The Vatican has assured that Francisco has had a good night at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome and, waiting for the next medical part, his “condition is stable,” according to Sunday afternoon.
The 88 -year -old pontiff has suffered bronchitis for more than a week and doctors have recommended absolute rest, so Sunday could not direct the special mass on the occasion of the Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church. (Agencies)
