The campaign “Valuing Local Commerce-Special Natal 2024” was a success, boosting the economy of the municipality of Portimão through a circular economy strategy, which benefited both consumers and entrepreneurs from the sectors of commerce, local services and restoration.
Once between December 1, 2024 and January 27, 2025, the initiative allowed that, for every 10 € in purchases at adherent stores, consumers would receive a coupon, being able to gain vouchers for use until February 28.
One of the highlights of this edition was the direct support to Portimonenses families, with the assignment of 7,350 valleys of 15 € (three vouchers of 5 € per student), in a total investment of 110,250 €. This measure benefited preschool children to the 3rd cycle, allowing them to buy gifts in local commerce and make Christmas even more special.
The campaign “Valuing Local Commerce – Special Natal 2024” also innovated with the inclusion of a draw of a car, making participation even more attractive to consumers.
The first balance of the initiative reveals that more than 75,000 valleys were delivered, representing an increase of about 15% compared to 2023. In a conservative way, it is estimated that this campaign has generated a sales volume close to 1 million euros, only in adherent stores.
With this initiative, reaffirms its commitment to boosting the local economy, supporting proximity trade as a sustainable strategy for economic growth.
The municipality thanks their partners for the campaign: Association of Trade and Services of the Algarve Region (Acral), Portimonense Association of Commerce and Services (APCS) and Tourism Association of Portimão (ATP), whose contribution was essential to the success of the success initiative.
