Delta Airlines, the company responsible for the plane that overturned at Pearson de Toronto International Airport on Monday (17), spoke for the first time about the accident.
In a statement, the company said it was aware of reports about the accident involving the flight from the city of Mineápolis to Toronto. According to local CBC station, the aircraft would have rolled up during the landing.
To date, eight injured, one of them in critical condition, have been recorded.
“There is a plane crash. However, we do not know the circumstances surrounding him at this time, ”said policeman Sarah Patten of the Peel Regional Police in Ontario.
“As I understand it, most passengers are out and unharmed, but we are still trying to be sure, so we are still in the place investigating,” Patten said.
The accident in Canada happens after some other recent accidents in North America in late January. An army helicopter collided with a passenger jet in Washington, killing 67 people, while at least seven people died when a medical transport plane crashed in Philadelphia.
