Construction sector projects growth of 2.8% in 2025

Association President states that the main challenges of the year are interest rates, inflation and debt of families

Abramat (Brazilian Association of Construction Materials Industry) stated on Wednesday (12.FEV.2025) that projects 2.8% growth for the sector in 2025.

The evaluation was made in collaboration with the FGV (Getúlio Vargas Foundation) and uses data from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). This is a (PDF – 275 kb).

The projection already takes into account a 0.2% retraction in sector revenues in January, compared to December. But if taken into account the same period of the previous year, there was an increase of 0.6%.

The December 2024 figures also dropped in comparison with the previous month (November), in the order of 2.5%. But compared to December 2023, there was an increase of 3.9%.

“We need to be aware and work hard to face the challenges brought by the economic conjuncture involving interest rates, inflation and family debt, which affects the consumption and demand of the real estate market.”said Rodrigo Navarro, president of Abramat.
