Sindicom (National Union of Fuel and Lubricant Distributing Companies) issued a note in which it expresses concern about statements by the President (), which, on Monday (17), argued that the sale direct to large consumers to cheaper the product .

The president also said that “the people need to learn to know who curses” by the increases.

In the note, Sindicom advocates distributors and states that they play an “essential role in guaranteeing national supply, ensuring that fuels arrive with quality and safety to all regions of the country, even in the face of challenges such as fraud and evasion.”

It also cites the composition of fuel prices, some detailed on the Petrobras website, such as gasoline, in which 34.17% of the final value correspond to the oil company and 33.9% refer to taxes – diesel, are 46 , 8% and 22.2%, respectively.

“The direct sale of fuels by producers to large consumers, without the requirement of the same obligations imposed on distributors, generates a serious competitive asymmetry,” says the union.

“While distributors meet mandatory goals, the exemption of producers of this responsibility compromises the decarbonization policy and can result in severe penalties for those who follow current regulation.”

The union also asked the authorities and Petrobras an assessment of the impacts of this practice on the market and the environmental commitments of the country, as well as reinforcing the need for “transparent and technical debate on the sector, reaffirming the importance of fuel distribution to Energy security, job creation and tax collection. “
