One of the craftsmen of the redemocratization process of the former President Júlio María Sanguinetti will take office as a corresponding partner of (Brazilian Academy of Letters) on March 17, in Rio de Janeiro. The suggestion was made by the president of the entity, Merval Pereira.
He ruled the country on two occasions: on the first, from 1985 to 1990, ended a 12 -year cycle of authoritarian governments. Then he returned to office between 1995 and 2000.
Sanguinetti will come to Brazil for an event in honor of the for to mark the 40th anniversary of Brazilian democracy. It will also participate in the event “Democracy 40 years: achievements, debts and challenges”, promoted by the Astrojildo Pereira Foundation and citizenship in Brasilia.
