Hamas will release six Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip on Saturday

The Palestinian militant Hamas movement will release six living Israeli hostages detained in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, a high-ranking representative and negotiator of the Chalil Al-Hajja movement announced on Tuesday. TASR informs according to AP.

In the case of the six people, these are the last living hostages to be released in the first phase of a valid ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The release of three was expected on Saturday.

Chalíl A-Hajja announced this decision on Tuesday in a pre-recorded television statement. According to AFP, he also added that the Palestinian militant movement will also hand over Israel on Thursday to the bodies of four dead hostages.

Both sides must now negotiate about the second and more complicated phase of the ceasefire, during which Hamas is to release further dozen detained hostages in exchange for a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal of Israel from the Gaza Strip, recalls AP.

In exchange for the release of the detained hostages of Israel, it transmits hundreds of Palestinian prisoners detained in Israel.
