International Airport in the Lebanese metropolis of Beirut for the funeral of the former leader of the militant movement of Hizbollah Hasan Nasrallah on Sunday (23 February 2) will interrupt its operation for four hours and stop all arrivals and departures. The restriction will be valid from 12.00 to 4 pm CET, the state office for civil aviation announced on Tuesday. According to DPA, TASR reports this.
Nasrallah died together with four other persons, including Hezbollah commander last September at the Israeli raid at the headquarters of the Beirut suburbs.
Nasrallah’s funeral ceremony will be held at the sports stadium near the Beirut international airport Ráfik Harího, announced at the beginning of February his successor Nai Kasim. According to him, participants from Lebanon and other countries are expected at the funeral.
At the ceremony, the late high-ranking Hezbollah representative and Nasrallah’s relatives relative to the Safi AD-Dín, who was considered his most likely successor, will also be reminded of the ceremony. For the first time, according to DPA, Kasim confirmed. Safi AD-Dín, however, was also a victim of an Israeli raid last October. Unlike Nasrallah, he will be buried in his hometown in the south of Lebanon.
