Viktor Medverčuk, a former Ukrainian politician and oligarch, who has been supporting Vladimir Putin for years, recently commented on the efforts about the end of Russian military aggression in Ukraine for the Prokremnel Press Agency.
The Ukrainian propaganda, who was deprived of his citizenship, said that many European countries – including Slovakia -, desire to seize parts of Ukraine.
Medverkuk is a lawyer and former Ukrainian MP accused of Velezrada. He is currently living in Russia. The agency addressed him to express his opinion on the post -war future of Ukraine.
He pointed out that his statements contained several propaganda slogans, including the need for the “removal of the Nazi regime” or “escalation of the conflict” by Ukraine. He also mentioned the alleged plans of European countries to annex Ukrainian territories.
On the alleged distribution of Ukraine
When asked by TASS whether the Ukrainian territories would be divided, Medvečuk replied that it would be “the only right way out of the current situation”. In this context, Slovakia also mentioned.
“It is known that in individual EU countries, such as Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria, ideas for the connection of individual Ukrainian countries, artificially incorporated into modern Ukraine, have long been born,” Medvečuk thinks.
According to the propagandist, it is “protection of the population and territories where representatives of national minorities live”, who “have been the victim of the Greenland Nazi regime and need to be protected”. He also stressed that “Russia has all the reasons to restore the historical Russian countries that belonged to him for centuries”.
The server also writes that this is not the first open propaganda media performance. In the past, he accused Ukraine of inciting conflict and the West of neglecting Russia’s interests.
In January 2023, the politician was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship and mandate of the deputy and in 2024 Ukrainian orders and awards.
Fico about Ukrainian territories
The question of whether Slovakia would claim the Ukrainian territory was faced last year by Prime Minister Robert Fico in conspiracy main reports.
In an interview with the Prime Minister, the moderator said that “conflict” in Ukraine is developing by being defeated, and according to him “Hungary openly says that it would claim part of the territory of Ukraine”.
Therefore, Fico was asked whether he could imagine that Slovakia would claim part of the territory of Ukraine.
He replied that “we are too far away, let’s be correct”. He advised the editor to assume that Ukraine is a sovereign state and stressed that “he would not open this subject”.
However, the editor continued and said that Russia would come out of the war as a winner and according to him we will have it on the border. Therefore, the Prime Minister also asked whether Slovakia “would be forced to dig a little to foreign policy”.
“How can we have Russia on the border when Ukraine as such will exist?” Fico responded last year. According to him, after the end of the conflict, agreements that must arise in order to be peace are claimed.
“Russia needs security guarantees and Ukraine needs guarantees. Ukraine must feel safe, ”the Prime Minister said and recommended the editor not to spread the panic that we will have Russian troops on the border. “The Russians are not fools, perhaps they will not fight against NATO Member State,” he concluded.
