A plane crashed upside down on the Toronto Pearson International Airport Track in Canada on Monday (17). Flight Delta Airlines 4819, operated by Endeavor Air had 90 people on board.

but it is not yet clear how the aircraft has been turned, leaving it on its back, scratched with black waste and without a wing tip. Inside, seat belt passengers were suspended from their seats.

At least 18 people were injured in the accident, said the airport fire chief, Todd Aitken. A child was among the injured, but is in good condition, the hospital for Sick Children said in Toronto.

He interrupted traffic at Canada’s busiest airport and will certainly raise doubts in the midst of increasing US flight safety concerns.

The accident occurred less than three weeks after a Washington plane, killing all 67 people on board.

In Toronto, the passengers left the aircraft upside down while the rescuers used extinguishers in the structure of the plane.

Endeavor Air, a Delta regional airline, operated the flight.

Canadian and Americans investigators will now work to determine what has become the plane.

Here is what we know about the moments that preceded and followed the collision, gathered by flight data and meteorological, filming and witness reports:

The accident

Delta flight 4819 departed from Minneapolis International Airport/ST. Paul on Monday and approached his destination at Toronto Pearson International Airport just before 3 pm local time, the airline said.

Strong winds hit Toronto all day and the airport staff worked all night to clean the remains of approximately 20 centimeters of snow that covered the airport over the weekend.

As the plane was approaching the airport, air traffic controllers notified their pilots about wind gusts of about 61 km/h. “There may be a small bump in the planning trajectory,” said the air traffic official.

“There will be an aircraft in front of you,” he added.

In two minutes, the plane overturned. The fire erupted as the aircraft crashed, and the plane hit the track, leaving passengers hanging from their seats, according to passengers John Nelson and Peter Koukov.

Koukov said “I didn’t know there was something wrong” until the plane hit the ground and felt as if it had turned aside, he said on the program “Erin Burnett Out Front”, from CNN.

“When we broke up, I was upside down, everyone else was there too,” said Nelson.

“We tried to get out of there as soon as possible.” He added that as soon as he left the plane, there was another explosion, but “fortunately the firefighters left.”

A medical helicopter flying nearby diverted his way to help in the accident.

As helicopter pilots approached, air traffic control employees warned them that there were people walking around the aircraft, according to the Liveatc audio.

“Yes, we got it. The aircraft is upside down and burning, ”replied the helicopter pilot.

The firefighters ran to the asphalt and began to extinguish the fire on the damaged fuselage of the aircraft. It is unclear where the fire originated, but the video shows that the plane’s fiberglass structure melted around the engine.

After the aircraft stopped, “we were upside down hanging like bats,” said Koukov.

He managed to let go and stand on the ceiling of the plane, but some people needed help to get off the seats.

Nelson said the scene was chaotic when he and his seat mate released from his belts and fell to the floor. People shouted for them to get off the plane and they went straight to an opening, he said.

The flight attendants helped passengers crawl out of the open exit doors, asking them to leave their personal belongings backwards, although some have still left with bags, shows a video of Koukov.

People jumped from the doors to the snow -covered floor while the plane was still on fire. People hugged to protect themselves from the wind as they walked away from the plane.

While some passengers were injured, most looked good, Nelson said. But he was stressed and trembling after the few seconds the plane took to roll.
