A woman from Poland named Julia Wandelt, who claims to be Madeleine McCann, a missing girl in Portugal at the age of 3 on May 3, 2007, released DNA tests that would prove her biological connection with her family. The 23 -year -old has published new exams that point a 69.23% ratio with samples from the girl, collected at the crime scene.
The information was published by the British newspaper Daily Mail. The announcement countered the version presented by researcher Fia Johansson, who in December 2023, said Wandelt was 100% Polish and had no origin trace in England, where McCann was born.
Even after the allegations, the parents of Madeleine, Kate and Gerry are refusing a new DNA test.

Julia has an account on social networks called “I Am Madeleine McCann” (“I’m Madeleine McCann”, translated from English). In an interview with BBC, she said she began to believe it after seeing photos of the child and notice physical similarities. According to the woman, this made her suspect her creation, and her parents would have ignored questions about her possibly being adopted.
Wandelt’s parents disagree with this version and claim that they have photos and evidence of its creation. “We always try to understand all the situations that happened to Julia. Threats to our address by Julia, her lies and manipulations, internet activity… We saw it all and try to prevent, explain, ask her to stop, ”said her mother.
Remember the case
