It was published in the Official Gazette (DO), this Wednesday (19), the normative instructions of the State Secretariat of Education and Culture (SEE) that define the use of portable electronic devices by students in state education institutions.

According to the document, it is forbidden to students of Basic Education attended by the state school system to use cell phones during classes, recreation or intervals between classes.
The registration signed by Secretary Aberson Carvalho also points out that the use of electronic devices will only be allowed for strict pedagogical or didactic purposes, previously defined by schools.
In situations of danger, necessity or case of force majeure, mobile phones will be made available under the supervision of the management team of the institutions.
Normative instruction comes into force from the date of its publication and also establishes that the devices must remain disconnected and stored by the students themselves in their backpacks.
“We have experienced a time when educational technologies are valuable allies of learning, as long as used with balance and purpose. Our regulation, in line with federal law, comes to organize the use of electronic devices in schools, ensuring that they strictly serve teaching and pedagogical, always under the guidance of teachers, said Secretary Aberson Carvalho.
The initiative also seeks to promote student awareness educational moments about the risks of excessive use of portable electronic devices through lectures, workshops, debates, conversation wheels, documentary display and other strategies about the moderate use of these items.
