Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár apologized to the Czech Defense Minister.
The head of Slovak diplomacy illustrated as an example of interfering in the internal affairs of Slovakia by the Czech Minister of Defense Jana Černochová on the Act on Slovak Television and Radio (TVR).
Černochová then asked the Blanár to state where she gave the statement or apologize to her. Blanár later corrected his statement.
“It is very unprofessional and stupid, if the top representative of diplomacy, in this case, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, will let anyone be accused of being referred to by a statement that the person has never said,” Černochova said.
“Therefore, I ask the Minister to announce where I said, or apologize,” she added.
Blanár, as an example of an interference, cited the statement of Černochova in a situation where the new government and parliament, which came from the parliamentary elections, changed the law on Slovak television.
“And Mrs. Černochová commented on it in such a way that if this law on Slovak television passes, it will actually be a propaganda instrument, paraphrases, Robert Fico for making politics in Slovakia,” said Blanár.
“We also do not comment and will not comment on the laws adopting the Czech Republic,” he said.
Blanár was on a working visit to Prague on Tuesday. There, in response to the Cernoch’s request for justification, he reiterated that she said the statement.
“I am based on what I have in the documents, and the statement simply sounded,” said Blanár Radižurnál in response to the request of Černochova for an apology. Again, according to CT24, he did not specify where the statement was heard.
Admitted a mistake
The head of the Slovak diplomacy in the Czech capital also gave an interview for, in which he apologized for the previous statement about Černochová.
In his words, Černochová confused with the head of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekar Adam.
“I want to apologize to Minister of Defense Cernoch on this occasion, because I was mistaken for the name. When one of your colleagues asked me today at a press conference, whether I could give an example, I defended it, but I gave an example of Mrs. Markéta Pekarová, who commented on the change of our law on Slovak television. That is why I want to apologize to Minister of Defense Cernoch on this occasion because I confused the names, ”Blanár acknowledged.
Pekar Adamová last July after a meeting of the highest Czech constitutional officials at the Prague Castle at a press conference, she pointed out that relations with Slovakia are a priority for constitutional officials, but the negotiations are also sincerity in the reflection of events in Slovakia.
“However, this close friendship and alliance allows us to be even more sincere than otherwise common, and reflect what is happening in Slovakia. I speak for myself and I have to say that I am concerned, ”she said.
According to the Slovak Government Coalition, the Slovak Government Coalition was canceled by the public service radio and television of Slovakia (TVR) and the law was legally established by a new public service medium.
Fico’s criticism
At the beginning of February, Prime Minister Robert Fico (Direction) again accused the Czech Republic of being interfering with the internal affairs of Slovakia. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský then rejected his claim.
Last March, the Czech government interrupted the Czech-Slovak intergovernmental consultations for different views on key topics of foreign policy.
Fiala had previously declared that there are neither conditions nor a reason to restore consultations. The cause is the foreign policy activities of the Slovak government headed by Robert Fico, such as his recent negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Lipavský said on Tuesday that he has no information at the moment that intergovernmental negotiations were being prepared.
“In the Czech Republic we have freedom of speech, that is, everyone can express their different opinions, ratings. We are quite equally coming to the US, Germany, ”Lipavský said in response to President Petr Pellegrini, according to which Slovakia becomes part of the election campaign and is abused by Czech politicians.
According to Lipavský, it is necessary to have some level of perspective, unless it appears from people who are not part of the government and do not represent government policy.
“I believe that we have clearly demonstrated the practical cooperation on a number of questions today, that we are really working on a relationship between the Czech Republic and Slovakia, so let’s not be nervous,” added the head of Czech diplomacy.
