Exaggerate Fiołek within this period. It will bloom for many months

It is necessary because of its roots. Over time, the plant uses nutrients from the ground, and the roots begin to overcome the pot. However, this is not the only reason. Do you know that Old ground can accumulate harmful bacteria and fungi? By mentioning them, you prevent diseases, and fresh soil provides new nutrients, stimulating the plant to grow and abundant flowering.

The best time to exaggerate the violet is spring and early summer, when the plant has a natural growth cycle. Avoid exaggeration during intensive flowering – this may weaken the plant and it will not be taken in a new place.

It is worth overdoing the violet if you notice:

Start by choosing the right substrate.

African violets prefer light, well -permeable soil with a lot of peat. You can buy for violets or prepare a mixture yourself, Mixing 50% peat with 30% perlite and 20% vermiculite.

Then choose the right size of the pot

African violets grow best in small pots – too much space makes the plant develop mainly roots instead of blooming. The ideal pot should be Fr. diameter 2-3 cm larger than the root block. Make sure it has a drain (to avoid shedding) and preferably made of plastic or ceramics.

Prepare the plant properly

Carefully remove the violet from the pot, Be careful not to damage the delicate roots. Gently brush the old earth, removing dead or rotten roots. Finally, check the condition of the plant – if you notice signs of the disease, remove damaged fragments.

Transplanting the violet to the new pot

Pour the drainage layer (e.g. expanded clay) into the new pot and place the plant in the middle, gently sprinkling with a new ground, slightly kneading the soil. Attention! Don’t cut the violet too deep! The leaves should not come into contact with the ground to avoid rot.

Watering after transplant

After exaggeration, water the violet moderately, preferably from below to avoid wetting the leaves. For a few days, keep the plant in a shady place so that it can be acclimatized.

Violets grow best in a bright but diffused light. The perfect place is the windowsill of the eastern or west window. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn delicate leaves. The optimal temperature is 20-22 ° C. Avoid drafts and sudden temperature changes. Violets like moist air, but they don’t tolerate the sprinkling of leaves! You can put the pot on a base with water and pebbles to increase humidity.

After transplanting Wait 2-3 weeks before you start fertilizing. Use fertilizers intended using them once every two weeks during growth.

African violets can be exposed to aphids, spider mite or woolly attack. If you notice signs of pests, use natural methods, e.g. soap and soap solutionor special plant protection products.
