The excitement was great when the rising network costs became known. An average budget had to pay a quarter more, the costs could double by 2030. Just at that time when energy prices have calmed down somewhat, the network costs make the invoices higher. It is not an Austrian phenomenon, but affects countries from all over the world. With every heat pump that replaces an oil kettle and every photovoltaic park that takes the place of a gas power plant, the requirements for the power grid increase. They are elaborate upheavals for network operators – and demand politics to make transformation socially compatible.
