Jair Bolsonaro’s former joint officer, Mauro Cid, said in award-winning denunciation that former Army commander, General Freire Gomes, considered the possibility of punishing the general reserve general Mario Fernandes.
According to the Federal Police, Fernandes, who held the position of number 2 at the General Secretariat of the Presidency, in the Bolsonaro Government, was responsible for preparing the so-called “Green and Yellow dagger” plan, which provided for the execution of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.
According to Cid, it was one of the generals that most encouraged the Armed Forces to act to try a supposed attempted coup in 2022 to prevent Lula’s possession.
“He was a general who was very ostensible, even on social networks. I was with the protesters all the time. Even General Freire Gomes even considered punishing him, because he was very ostensible in the pressure that was going to be done in the generals so that the generals could do something, ”Cid said in the statement.
During the denunciation, the former ordinant of orders also pointed out that Freire Gomes opposed the meetings between Fernandes and Bolsonaro. And he even charged Cid’s explanations as they found that the two gathered.
“Even General Freire Gomes himself, if I remember well, called me desperate when I learned that General Mario was going there [no Alvorada]. He said: Po ***, Cid, can’t let him go there… this guy is crazy, he takes him from there, ”said Cid.
This Wednesday (19), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Court, withdrew the confidentiality of the CID Awards Agreement in the inquiry into the coup plot. With this, the 14 testimonials of the lieutenant colonel became public.
