President Lula (PT) said on Wednesday (19) that, if the Supreme Court (STF) decide that the former president () and others reported by the (Attorney General’s Office) were involved with the coup plot, They will have to “pay for the mistake they made”.
Lula was questioned by the press about the complaint against Bolsonaro. On Tuesday (18), the former president was reported to the Attorney General, under the possession of (PT) in 2022.
In his speech, Lula said that all people are entitled to the presumption of innocence and that if the accused prove that they had no involvement with the attempted coup and the murder plans, they “can move throughout Brazil.”
“If at the time the judge goes to judge and come to the conclusion that they are guilty, they will have to pay for the mistake they made. It is just the indictment, the process goes to the Supreme and they will have the right to defend themselves,” said Lula .
Bolsonaro and, among them the former minister, who was a candidate for vice president on the 2022 plate and is currently arrested preventively. Apart from the general, another five are detained.
Lula was questioned by the press about the case after meeting with the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro.
