Taliban introduced a hard interpretation of Islamic law in Afghanistan

The Taliban movement has introduced a hard interpretation of Islamic law in Afghanistan, including a return to public whipping and executions. It has forbidden women to educate, work or visit some public places.

The Taliban government regularly visits neighboring countries, as well as Central Asia, Russia and China. In addition, it visited officially Europe only at diplomatic summits in Norway in 2022 and 2023. In the case of Japan, this is the first visit to Taliban representatives since the takeover of power in 2021.

The Nippon Foundation, as the organizer of a visit to the meeting, emphasized “Cruel conditions in which women and children in Afghanistan are forced to live. “We wanted them to recognize the need to receive humanitarian aid for those who are vulnerable,” AFP told the reason for organizing a visit.
