The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) indicated on Tuesday (18) that the use of the internet to pursue authorities was part of the action of the “criminal organization” involved in a coup plot.
The actions in the digital environment, according to the institution, were led by then President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and would be part of an “insurrection plan”.
“The articulation for this purpose involved naming words of hatred, especially in an internet environment, against characters in the country’s institutional life identified as enemies of the group, especially those who had the task of directing the elections and ensuring the normality of the process,” stated the complaint.
PGR sent, on Tuesday night, to the Supreme Court (STF), a complaint against 34 people for acts against the Democratic Rule of Law, including former President Jair Bolsonaro.

Already in 2022, the PGR highlights discourses and actions used to mobilize the population and feed the idea of fraud at the electronic ballot box after the election of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
“The criminal organization continuously fostered the narrative of electoral fraud to keep its supporters mobilized and favorable to armed actions. The group sought ways to communicate with the population periodically in order to encourage them to remain camped and to inflate the feeling of revolt in them instilled, ”said the complaint.
According to the institution, the “crucial core”, which he classified as a criminal organization, included people from the top of the government and the Armed Forces.
The complaints filed by the PGR have been expected since the beginning of the year. At the end of 2024, the Federal Police indicted 40 people by the plot of a coup after the 2022 election. The indictments were awaiting PGR analysis to send to the Supreme Court.
