The PRR Revitalgave Project will feature, on February 26, at 9:30 am, in the Patacão auditorium of the Algarve Coordination and Regional Development Commission (CCDR), the new brand “Saberm the Algarve”, created to represent the network of Local Algarve producers (RPLA).
Included exclusively to the members of RPA, this brand emerges as an element of differentiation and appreciation of regional products, reinforcing the commitment to quality, food safety and sustainable production. The goal is to promote local products, preserve the territory, value producers and streamline the rural economy of the region.
The launch event will also serve to gather Algarve producers and encourage them to join the network of local producers. Adhesion is open to primary and transformer producers of the food sector, provided they have productive or transforming unit in the region and respect the principles of sustainability and good agricultural practices established in.
The presentation of the project will be divided into two moments. In the first, will take place sessions in the auditorium for the presentation of the revitalgarve, RPA and the new brand, especially the pilot project of valuing the meat of algarve barrack sheep. In the second moment, participants will be invited to the “Space Saber the Algarve”, where they will be able to watch regional products and gastronomic tests, organized by thematic areas: Prado, Horta, Orchard, Origin and Table.
The creation of the Algarve Local Producers Network and the “Saber the Algarve” brand reinforces the role of local agriculture as a strategic asset of the region, promoting the identity and sustainable growth of the agri -food sector in the Algarve.

The project Revitalgarve – Revitalization of Rural Zones of the Algarve: Resilience and Innovation in the creation of territorial eating systems is an innovative project that aims to create a model of organization of the Algarve food system, based on a network of local Algarve (RPLA) and consumption producers network (RPA) place of products originating from this network.
