The Austrian security authorities seemed to have prevented a terrorist attack planned by a 14-year-old teen at the Westbahnhof railway station in Vienna. This was announced on Wednesday by the Austrian Ministry of the Interior, informs TASR based on APA and ORF TV reports.
The young man was detained on 10 February, according to the announcement. They found, among other things, two knives and materials according to which it can be a supporter of the jihadist group Islamic State (IS), results from the notification. The intervention was involved in the members of the Vienna Regional Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Fight against Extremism (LSE) and the Police special unit Wega in the Austrian capital.
