This is one of the most expensive tourist attractions in the world. It hides an extraordinary secret, and you need to have a special permit for sightseeing
Osireion was built during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I (1294-1279 PNE). The construction of the temple in honor of the Egyptian god of death and revival resembles much older buildings, which is why many researchers have doubts about its actual origin and destiny. Some say that it was a symbolic burial place of Osiris, while others were to perform a ceremonial or ritual function. We can see numerous paintings and reliefs depicting rituals related to Osiris. Among them are texts from the Book of Cave and Books of Gates, which describe the journey of the sun god Ra through the world of the underground. One of the greatest secrets of Osireion is his underground. The temple was built below ground level, which is rare in Egyptian buildings. Today, the entire surface is flooded with water. Scientists are wondering if it was the original idea and whether the water was in this place before the temple was created. If so, how was the buildings erected? Not only scientists, but also supporters of conspiracy theories, think about it. One thing is certain, water adds a mystical character to this place and attracts numerous researchers. However, not everyone can enter the temple. To visit the object inside you need the permission of the Office for Monuments, which can be obtained through the mediation of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Cairo. Consent to the entrance is issued only a few times a year depending on the water level. A maximum of 49 people can come inside at the same time. The tour cannot last longer than 2 hours, you must not talk, take pictures and touch anything. Osireion is one of the most expensive archaeological attractions in the world. Admission costs 40,000 Egyptian pounds, or about 3,000 PLN 160. Tickets can be bought on the website of the Ministry of Tourism and Monuments of Egypt.
