The case generated great repercussion in Pernambuco. Antônio Lopes, known as “Frajola”, was arrested in rural Carnaíba, also in the state’s backlands, along with his wife, Giselda da Silva Andrade, 30. According to police, the two are suspected of violating and murdering the boy Arthur Ramos Nascimento last Sunday (16).
During the route to the police station, the car in which the couple was was intercepted by popular. According to the Secretariat of Social Defense (SDS), the man was rescued and taken to a hospital, but could not resist his injuries and died.
The woman suspected of involvement in the crime has also been injured. She was referred to a health unit, where she received care and has been discharged. Currently, Giselda is available to justice in a female prison in Pernambuco, which was not named for security reasons.
To the press, Raquel Lyra emphasized that, despite popular commotion, lynching cannot be justified. “Of course, the feeling of justice emerges a lot, especially when it comes to a crime against a child, but the state needs to play its role. Not only in the investigation, investigation and penalty regarding the crime against the child, but also in the establishment of a process to investigate the conduct of those involved in lynching, ”said the governor.

According to the investigations, Antonio Lopes and Giselda da Silva Andrade were responsible for the care of the boy Arthur Ramos Nascimento.
The crime was recorded last Sunday (16), in Tabira, in the Sertão de Pernambuco, when Arthur was taken to a hospital in the city with various injuries to the body, with evidence of physical and sexual violence, police said. The child did not resist the injuries and died shortly after entering the health unit.
In a statement, the Civil Police reported that an inquiry was initiated to investigate the crime. Arthur’s death was recorded as homicide, with the classification of domestic/family violence.
