The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenyy rejected the original proposal of the agreement as he had serious reasons for it.

US President Donald Trump’s administration could strive for a simplified original agreement on minerals with Ukraine. According to Reuters sources, the United States would like to quickly close this pact and not to negotiate detailed conditions later, TASR writes.

According to Reuters, Trump wants to conclude an agreement before it potentially approved further military assistance for Kiev or before progressing negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end a three -year armed conflict.

Graphite, uranium, titanium Či lithium

The rejection of the original proposal by the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenský shows that the conclusion of the agreement will require its time, writes Reuters. The original proposal said that Washington would receive 50 percent of Ukrainian mineral resources – among them graphite, uranium, titanium and lithium, which is a key component of the battery into electric vehicles. According to Zelensky, the proposal focused too much on the interests of the US and did not provide Kiev sufficient “security guarantees”.

Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg is expected to meet Greeny on Thursday and discuss the details of the new version of the agreement and what Ukraine expects in exchange for minerals. “It is crucial for us to make this meeting – and overall cooperation with America – to be constructive,” the Ukrainian president said.

Relations between Kiev and Washington have recently been increasingly tense for US negotiations with Russia regarding the end of the war in Ukraine without representatives of Kiev. On Wednesday, Trump called a green “dictator without elections”, referring to the fact that his five -year term was to end last year. The Ukrainian Parliament extended the term of office for the war.

GREEN: Trump lives in a Russian “disinformation bubble”

Greeding on Wednesday said that Trump lives in a Russian “disinformation bubble” in response to his statements that Ukraine was responsible for the war.

According to Reuters, the United States has provided Ukraine for the duration of the conflict of tens of billions of dollars. Trump advocates an agreement on minerals by “getting back in some way” and demanding it worth $ 500 billion (€ 482 billion).
