SAO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS)-US President Donald Trump exchanged cuddles with billionaire Elon Musk in a joint interview with Fox News broadcaster on Tuesday (18) in which he called the X’s X owner, a leader, “A great person” and “a very smart guy.”
During the interview, which lasted about an hour, the two answered friendly questions from the Sean Hannity -Fox News anchor is a friendly broadcaster to the Republican. At one point in the interview, Hannity said that interviewing Trump and Musk “is like interviewing brothers” and ended the conversation by saying to pray to God so that the billionaire spending cuts are successful.
Musk received Carta Branca from Trump to dramatically reduce or eliminate the budget of programs considered by the owner of X and Spacex “waste of the taxpayer money.” In practice, the billionaire, ahead of Doge (Department of Government Efficiency), has aimed at programs that consider “left” or related to diversity programs.
Trump and Musk have exchanged compliments throughout the conversation with Hannity, the businessman saying, for example, that he has never seen the Republican “never being cruel or unpleasant to anyone,” and with the president replying that he has always respected Musk. “It couldn’t have found anyone smarter.”
The Fox News anchor asked Trump to comment on what he called “Democrats and the Media attempts” to create divisions between him and Musk -Houve reports in the American press suggesting that the president was bothered by the growing influence of the billionaire in his government. To Fox, the Republican denied divergences and said he fully trusts in Musk, who attacked the press for the reports.
Trump took several opportunities to criticize his predecessor, Joe Biden, and praised the work his government has done to reduce the number of irregular migrants entering the US border -the arrests made by the migratory authorities reached the number more Low since 2020.
