US President Donald Trump spoke on Wednesday that he expected Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit the United States, but gave no forecast for the meeting to take place.
Trump commented on reporters at Air Force One and said that “it is possible” that US and China have a new trade agreement.
One is seen as crucial to possible relief or delay of commercial tariffs.
“We will have, in the end, President XI, we will all have come (to the US),” Trump said while also talking about other leaders visiting the United States.
Xi last traveled to the country in November 2023, on his fifth visit to the Americans as Chinese president, for a summit with then -President Joe Biden, resulting in agreements to resume military communications and contain fentanyl production.
On January 20 and discussed issues such as Commerce and Taiwan.
The Republican reported to reporters on Wednesday that he was talking to China about Tiktok while those owned by the Chinese company bytedance.
The US president said last week that he had also talked to Xi since he took office, but has not offered details about the topics of this conversation.
China’s Foreign Ministry did not directly comment on Trump’s lines that day and instead referred reporters to a “scheduled” connection among the leaders before the Republican assumes office.

“We can,” Trump said, adding that he thought the Russians wanted to see the war end.
