The PSV won an exciting 3-1 victory over Juventus on Wednesday (19) February, on PSV Stadion, in a match valid for the second phase of Champions League. The result guaranteed the Dutch team’s classification for the round of 16 of the European competition after an intense extension.
The game started balanced, with both teams creating chances, but to no avail in the first half. The match came to life in the second half when Ivan Perisic opened the scoring for PSV on 8 minutes. Juventus reacted quickly, drawing with Timothy Weah on 19 minutes. The PSV resumed the lead with Ishmael Sabari on 28 minutes, taking the game for extension.
In extra time, Ryan Flamingo sealed PSV’s victory 7 minutes into the first half of the extension.
With the classification, the PSV can face Arsenal or Inter Milan in the round of 16. UEFA will hold the draw of the next phase this Friday (21).
