David Lyndon in British Bournemouth has set a new Guinness world record for the slightest sculpture.
Lyndon, a professional engineer who started his artist’s career in 2019, said he needed a few months to design and create the work. The size of the red carving of LEGO bricks was 0.02517 mm on 0.02184 mm – comparable to a white cell in human blood.
He became famous for his miniature works, including three microscopic children of Van Gogh’s masterpieces on a clock mechanism, which were sold for 90,000 pounds.
Lyndon’s last creation, made of Red Lego bricks, was obviously scientific with a light microscope. Spectrographic Limited in Leeds then confirmed that the artist’s work is the smallest sculpture in history.
“It’s crazy, I know. I like the challenge, I like discipline. I like to see the expressions of surprise and amazement on the faces of people when I see my art for the first time. Seeing her live is amazing, ”Lyndon said.
“The challenge of creating tiny objects that cannot be seen without a microscope requires a huge physical and mental effort. I learned to slow my breath and work between heartbeat. Even the beats of my heart, transmitted through my fingers, causes too much movement, ”the artist acknowledged.
He created Lego 3 -dimensions bricks, using his own portable microscopic tools and worked between 6 and 10 hours every night, to avoid vibrations caused by traffic during the day.
His eight -point LEGO brick was recognized as the narrowest sculpture in the world, and the narrowest four -point brick has dropped the record in 2017. However, Lyndon also created an even smaller brick. Alone, a point, and has shot down his own record in just 20 minutes. All three sculptures are considered so microscopic that they cannot be seen with the naked eye.
