In a meeting with the board of the Fluminense On Thursday (20.FEV.2025), executives of BTG Pactual said they already had investors interested in the transformation of the Rio club into a SAF (Society of Football).

According to the Globo Esporte website, the bank’s executives told the top hats that a proposal will be presented soon, so that the team is no longer a non-profit civil association and becomes a club.

The meeting was attended by Mario Bittencourt, president of Fluminense, Mattheus Montenegro, deputy general, and Paulo Todoro, deputy finance. “Once we receive a proposal, we will inform the fans and the partners, with all transparency”, said Montenegro.

Bittencourt stressed the importance of change to the future of Fluminense. “We are advancing, as always, safely and so that it can bring to Fluminense a solid and structured investment model.” these.

The SAF transformation project provides for the sale of the club’s football department control to the buyer, which will deter more than 50% of the company’s shares to be created.

The strategy marks a significant change in the board’s view, which initially wanted to maintain football control in the hands of the club.

BTG Pactual was hired by Fluminense to analyze finances and advise the club in search of investors. At the end of 2024, behind -the -scenes news showed that the bank’s main partner would be determined to invest as an individual in the SAF project. The banker, however, denied that he has this intention.
