The current champion Real Madrid will face his rival of the Spanish capital Atlético de Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League, whose clashes were drawn on Friday (21) in Nyon, Switzerland.
Another knockout with teams from the same country will be between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, from Germany, while Liverpool, leader of Premier League and leader of the first phase of Championship, will face Paris Saint-Germain, leader of French championship.
The draw was more generous with Barcelona, who will seek the classification for the quarterfinals against Benfica, an opponent who defeated the league phase in spectacular duel that ended in 5 to 4.
Other teams also candidates for the title, Arsenal and Inter Milan will face, respectively, the Dutch PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord.
Runner-up of the last edition, Borussia Dortmund will face Lille, from France, and Aston Villa takes one of the competition’s surprises, the Brugg, Belgium.
