The village of Cortelha, in the heart of Serra do Caldeirão, in the municipality of Loulé, will receive another pedestrian tour on March 8, integrated at the brand of brandy and honey. This year, participants will have the opportunity to visit some distills of MEDRONHO brandy, one of the most emblematic products in the region.
At this time of year, the producers of codeder brandy live intense days with the traditional “boilers”, an essential process for the distillation of the fruit. After the cadha do jam in November, the time now comes to turn the fruit into the much -appreciated codeder, known for its authentic flavor and handcrafted tradition.
In order to make known this typical product and other riches of Serra do Caldeirão, the brandy and honey fair will include this pedestrian tour, whose highlight will be the visit to local distilleries.
In addition to direct contact with producers, participants will enjoy the magnificent landscapes of the mountains in a course of approximately 11 kilometers. The match is scheduled for 09:00 and registrations can be made through the site.
Along the way, walkers will have the opportunity to observe elements of rural heritage and subsistence traditions of the parish of Salir. In the end, they will be received with a mountain lunch at the enclosure of the brand of brandy and honey.
The organization will ensure continuous support for participants, with water, fruit and cake distribution. After lunch, visitors will be able to explore the stands of the various producers and artisans present at the event, as well as watching traditional music shows and cultural animation.
This initiative is promoted by the Cortelha Friends Association and has the support of the Loulé City Council and the Salir Parish Council.
