Procon-SP Fine Sephora in more than $ 500,000 for problems with Black Friday

Procon-SP announced this week that it applied a fine of R $ 514,73,000 against the Sephora cosmetics network, not delivering the products sold within the deadlines and unilateral orders during Balck Friday 2024.

According to the consumer protection agency, the company, which has the name fantasy Dotcom Group Gifts SA, breaking articles from the Consumer Protection Code (CDC).

Other irregularities committed by Sephora and proven by Procon-SP’s surveillance area were: lack of clear and accurate information about their email address; Insertions of abusive clauses under the general conditions of sale and under the general conditions for the use of the official sales website and application and, also for not making the consumer available the option to choose date and shift for delivery of the purchased product.

Also according to the agency, throughout 2024 there were more than 1,400 complaints against the company on the Procon-SP platform. The company has committed itself to solve the demands, which did not happen according to the consumer protection body.

The fine was applied through administrative proceedings and the company is entitled to defense. This value was established by the calculation rules set forth in the CDC, which take into account factors such as the company’s economic size and the severity of the infraction, among others.
