New York/London – The grip for the cigarette will soon become more expensive in Austria: on April 1st, the tobacco tax will be increased to EUR 1,000 each. The tobacco industry will pass on this increase to consumers from March. Smokers then have to pay 20 to 30 cents more per pack, reported the Kronen Zeitung on Friday. The popular brand L&M in Germany and cheaper is 50 cents more expensive to prevent shopping tourism.
