Europe today needs a variety of views, because the policy of a single right opinion destroys it and those who go “upstream” are pushed to the edge and punishmentSlovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) presented in his Friday speech at the Conference of Conservative Political Action (CPAC) in Washington. At the same time, Fico stressed that he was looking forward to working with US President Donald Trump.
“My friend, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, recently complained, of course, with a smile on his face that he was trying to set the EU mirror for years and this process was extremely lengthy. And then Donald Trump came and he managed to prove it within a few days,” Fico declared in his speech.
According to Fico, no one disputes that The Russian invasion of Ukraine was a violation of international law. He added, however, that Russia had “serious security reasons” for it, as the West has long been “introduced” to Moscow on the issue of NATO expansion. According to him, Ukraine has been the victim of a bad geopolitical strategy of the West, which aims to weaken Russia politically and economically. He reiterated that the policy of “unlimited military, financial and political support” for Ukraine, in combination with sanctions against Russia, apparently missed the effect.
Fico, in his own words, is surprised by the behavior of the EU and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greeny, who “pushed for three years in Ukraine” and today are trying to “push” into peace negotiations between the United States and Russia. “It is increasingly starting to look that President of Greeding in fact needs this war,” declared Fico. “While the war lasts, there are no democratic elections. They are particularly worried about them,” stated.
Fico pointed out that British leader Winston Churchill lost elections after World War II in 1945. “While the war lasts, it is difficult to investigate, where a significant part of (European) finance, allocated to Ukraine and where a huge part of weapons ends. Greeny knows that while the war lasts, it has absolute support from the EU,” declared. He reiterated that the EU should help the new US administration at all costs to end “nonsensical killing” in Ukraine – even at the cost that peaceful solution will not correspond to the idea of a fair peace for Ukraine or its territorial integrity – and not try to put obstacles to Trump, what to do. It was applauded in the hall.
Fico warned against “dangerous radicalization” of liberal and progressive ideology and in this context mentioned the upcoming Amendment to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic, where it wants to anchor that there are only two genders in Slovakia – a man and a woman – and allow children to adopt only married couples. He also criticized compulsory quotas within the EU for the distribution of migrants.
He also mentioned his meeting with the head of the US State Administration Efficiency Office (Doga) Elon Musk, who plans to cancel the United States agency for International Development (USAID). Fico said that USAID was funded by media and non -governmental organizations in Slovakia, which, thanks to its funds, became active anti -government participants of political struggle, without any “political responsibility towards citizens”. Stressed that it is necessary to require transparency and at the same time Distinguish between useful projects and “apparent interference in internal affairs” of other countries.
At the end of his speech he stated, That, like the new American administration, Slovakia wants fair and reciprocal relations between countries and called on the United States to cooperate and Searching for solutions that will eliminate the disagreements without the need to mislead duties and thus spin a spiral of retaliatory measures.
