Hamas released the names of six living Israelis on Friday, which they plan to release on Saturday under its terms. The Palestinian Prisoner Media Bureau, associated with her, said that more than 600 Palestinians are also going to be released from Israeli prisons in return.
The announcements are a sign that the fragile ceasefire agreement remains on the right track despite tensions following Israeli claims at night that Homer’s body Sir Bibas was not returned to Israel as promised by Hamas.
Hamas insists that she keeps the truce agreement and “has no interest in keeping any bodies in her possession.” He also says that the four dead hostages he handed over on Thursday were killed by an Israeli air raid in November 2023, and the corpses could have been mistakenly recognized by bombings in the area.
The fragile ceasefire in Gaza began on January 19th and the first phase ends in early March. The Palestinians in Gaza and the Israeli hostage families are afraid that the deal may not be extended to the scheduled second stage, whereby Hamas is supposed to return the rest of the hostages in return for Israel to end the war.
