Pampušky are traditional Ukrainian buns, which are most often served to soups, especially to Boršč. They are fluffy, soft, and after baking, they rub with a fragrant garlic mixture, which gives them a distinctive taste. They are prepared from yeast dough, bake until golden brown and still be soaked with garlic overflow.
The dough is mixed from plain flour, yeast, milk, a little sugar, salt and butter. After the rising, small buns are shaped and allowed to rest for a while. Baking must be even for the pampas to remain supple inside, but on the surface they get a finely crispy crust. Immediately after pulling out of the oven, they rub with a mixture of oil, crushed garlic and chopped herbs.
“There is a garlic bread under the picturesque name of the pampuška, which traditionally eats in Ukraine. If you cook your favorite soup, it is up to you, pampušky are great as a side dish to grilled meat or simply as usual pastries,” says culinary culinary expert Jana Chmelíková.

Long tradition and great importance
In Ukraine, Pampušky has a long tradition. They were baked at a time when the furnaces were part of most houses. Each family has a recipe, somewhere more butter is added to the dough, elsewhere sweet variants with honey are prepared. Whether they are salty or sweet, it is always a soft and fluffy pastry that is still warm.
Maximum dough leaves are important
Those who want to prepare really good pampušky should let the dough rise enough. When he rushes, the buns will be dense and difficult. The right baking is also important – at too high temperature they are quickly roasted on the surface, but they can remain unfold inside. Finally, it is necessary to spare garlic overflow, because it adds pampuším their typical taste.
Pampušky can be eaten alone, but they taste best with thick soups or meat sauces. They are ideal for Sunday lunch as well as entertainment for guests. Whoever is tasted will be happy to return to them.
