Czech muffins have a long tradition, but have recently seen serious competition. More and more people are discovering the magic of British scones – butter buns that are fragile, gentle and incredibly delicious. And no wonder. Their preparation is easy, they are finished in a moment, and when they bake properly, they literally melt on the tongue.

In Britain, Scones are an essential part of a traditional tea party. They are most often served with thick cream and strawberry jam, which is a combination that the locals do not allow. But if you ask them what belongs to Bochánek first – whether jam or cream – runs an endless debate. But one thing is certain, regardless of the method of serving, Scones are irresistible.

Don’t forget to work with the dough quickly

They are prepared from plain flour, butter, milk and baking powder. The basic rule is simple – the dough must work quickly and as little as possible to remain beautifully fluffy. Once the scones are baked, they have a finely crispy crust from the outside and are soft and supple inside. They are perfect for coffee and tea, they can be served as well as naslano, and their versatility makes them a recipe that people like to return to.

Everyone can handle the preparation

The preparation is easy and everyone can do it. First, flour with baking powder and a pinch of salt is sifted, then added to the pieces of sliced cold butter and the fingers quickly work into the flour until the crumb is formed. Then the milk is poured and the dough is mixed slightly – the less it is handled, the more fluffy the buns will be.

“You can add everything you like – raisins, dried fruits, chocolate, or let them just! Scones are baked for 10 minutes, and they are still warm, so quickly,” says the cuisine chef Lidl Roman Paulus.

Once the dough is ready, it rolines on a slightly floured roll on a sheet about two centimeters thick. Then just cut the wheels, rub them with a little milk and bake in a heated oven. In a few minutes, the kitchen is an irresistible butter scent and Scones are ready to serve. They taste the best even lukewarm, complemented by homemade jam or cream. One bite is enough and it is clear why this British goodness becomes so popular IU.
