More than 10 states are under intense rain alert This Saturday (22), according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).
Inmet issued four warnings that include about 15 states from all regions of Brazil. They are valid until 10am, but can be extended.
The institute divides the alerts into three levels of severity: potential (yellow) danger, danger (orange) and great danger (red). For this Saturday, they were issued Two danger warnings and two of potential danger. See below the details:
- Danger: Greater São Paulo, cities of the north and interior of São Paulo and part of the south of Minas Gerais
- Danger: Northern Pará, including Belém, and parts of Amapá and Maranhão
- Potential danger alert: states of São Paulo, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Acre, Amazonas, Roraima, Pará, Amapá, Tocantins, Maranhão and Piauí
- Potential danger alert: Bahia coast

In all, 2,168 municipalities can be impacted by the temporal. The most affected states must be Sao Paulo and Pará.
Regions on alert yellow can be hit with rainfall up to 30 mm per hour and winds of up to 60 km/h. Already the places in orange alert, can suffer from Browsing up to 60 mm per hour and strong winds of up to 100 km/h.
Inmet also warns of the risk of falling branches and trees, flooding and, consequently, Electricity cuts.
