The São Paulo Public Prosecution Service arrested two people in an operation against vaccination card fraud on the morning of Friday (21).
One of the prisoners is a public servant in the health area and was a candidate for councilor in the 2024 municipal elections in São Bernardo do Campo. He was arrested preventively by the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco).
Another person was caught in the act. Operation Antigen sought to dismantle a criminal group that frauduled the vaccided system, inserting false data on COVID-19 and other diseases, with the consequent issuance of illegitimate vaccination certificates.
The agents also served eight search and seizure warrants at the addresses of the investigated in the cities of São Paulo and São Bernardo. Five firearms, accessories, ammunition, cell phones, electronic devices and cash were seized.
MPSP prosecutors and servants participated in the action of military police from the 6th Special Police Action Battalion (Baep).
