Federal deputy requests a measure against former president to prevent eventual escape from the country
The federal deputy (PT/RS) requested the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) the imposition of monitoring by electronic anklet to the former president (PL). The measure, proposed on last Thursday (20.FEV.2025), aims to prevent a possible escape from the country.
Pimenta, former minister of the President’s Government Secretariat (PT), based the request on information that the former president could seek refuge in foreign embassies to avoid criminal liability.
“In addition, information released by the press reveals evidence of a possibility of escape, by Jair Bolsonaro and his allies, in order to avoid any criminal liability.”states the action.
Bolsonaro, who has had his passport withheld by court decision, denies any intention to escape. Its defense criticizes the PGR denunciation, considering it “Silly” and based solely on the denunciation of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former Bolsonaro orders, in accordance with the Federal Police (PF).
Complaint against Bolsonaro
The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, Bolsonaro and 33 more people involved in the investigation that investigates what would be an attempt to coup after the 2022 elections-vanquished by President Lula.
The complaint was sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the investigation in the Supreme Court (STF), on the night of Tuesday (18.FEV.2025). Also denounced the former minister and former vice on the Bolsonaro plate, General Braga Netto; and the former joint of orders Mauro Cid.
Those reported by Gonet are responsible for the crimes pointed out by the PF in the report, of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup and criminal organization. In addition, Gonet filed 2 more crimes in the complaint: qualified damage with violence and deterioration against listed assets. Crimes add up to 43 years in prison.
