– Ronaldo Caiado (@rondocaiado)
Caiado, who has already ran for president in 1989, consolidated his political career as a federal deputy, senator and governor of Goiás, being reelected for office in 2022. He presents himself as an alternative within the right, even without the support of the former president Jair Bolsonaro, with whom he has political differences since 2024.
The president of União Brasil, Antonio Rueda, stressed that Caiado has “all predicates” for the presidential dispute, mentioning his well -evaluated management in Goiás as a differential. In addition, the governor seeks to position himself as a strong name in opposition to the Lula administration, especially on guidelines as public security, which he considers a central theme for the 2026 elections.
