SHMI warns of strong winds and smog: They will hit several districts!

Strong winds can occur on Saturday in the districts of Skalica, Senica, Myjava and Malacky. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) therefore issued a first level warning. It also applies a warning to the smog situation for PM10 particles for the village of Veľká Ida in the district of Košice-okolie. SHMI informs about it on its website.

The wind warning is valid until 18.00. “Occasionally, the occurrence of wind is expected to reach the short term (in impacts) 65 to 70 kilometers per hour and in the diameter of about 45 kilometers per hour,” the meteorologists said.

SHMI in connection with the announced smog situation in the Great Ide Reminded that The most sensitive groups of the PM10 population are old people, persons with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, allergy sufferers and asthmatics, very young children and pregnant women. Therefore, it is recommended that people limit their stay and physical exertion outside and shorten room ventilation.
