Black carrots are a two-year plant, which is sown directly to the ground in rows every 20-30 cm at a depth of about 1 cm. Usually, breeders do this in early spring in March, when the soil reaches a stable temperature of about 7-10 degrees Celsius.

Then the vegetables to collect will appear in the summer (3-4 months from the moment they are placed in the ground). You can also sow black carrots in late summer for an autumn harvest, but you better not delay if you want to wait quickly.
