The protesters in London called for the end of the occupation of Ukraine and refused possible agreements without the participation of Kiev.
Thousands of protesters marched on Saturday to the Russian embassy in London with calls so that the international community “would not betray Ukraine” and that Russian troops withdrew from this country. This was reported by PA Media and DPA, writes TASR.
The demonstration was convened by groups of the Ukrainian community and the British trade unions before Monday’s third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The march was also held at the time of fear of the exclusion of Kiev from peace interviews between Moscow and the government of US President Donald Trump.
The organizers stated in a joint statement that Ukraine has become vulnerable because it does not receive enough aid to defeat Russia, and it is “expected to issue its own citizens in the occupation on the basis of an agreement of the interior Trump”.
The participants of the march carried banners with slogans such as “occupation is not peace” or “do not betray Ukraine”. They gathered at the statue of St. Vladimir in London’s Holland Park and marched to the nearby Embassy of Russia.
